Mike: I don’t like tutorials Mike in 2020: *SKILLSHARE!*
Yup its what kept me doing soo many things
You know, you're right. I never thought of it this way. I always tried to find as many resources on something as possible- for me it's language learning. I kept running into confusion as people tried to explain things six different ways, until I just dove in and started to figure it out, asking questions where I needed to. This didn't overload me with unnecessary information that would scare me out of trying to learn for *months* at a time. Thank you.
Need of the hour..
This is why I like watching you when learning a skill. Seeing it from a beginners perspective and them being confused I can just watch what they are doing to learn but it’s not overwhelming and I get someone to relate too like when I learned to spin a Basketball or dice stacking or card spring
Does it also apply when learning math or theoretical concepts? Btw, inspiring vid, thanks for the info.
Imagine... This video is sponsored by skillshare
But what to do if you are already got too much info
Tutorials all tend to give very shallow information that you will gather within 20 minutes of attempting said challenge.
Anyone else spent waaaay too much time looking at the adorable cat on the right?
This is exactly the video i needed
Lol the golf part was funny
So... does mike ever give any insight into his approach to learning things so quickly? Otherwise this show pretty much just seems like a lot of showing off
Learn quick Memories the name of all yore patrons
My man thenx was in the video
3:43 Me when I try something new:))
Hey bro, your cats is very high. lmao XD
I thought the thumbnail said “why I don’t use tortillas” and I never clicked so fast on a random LVworld recommendation haha I wasn’t disappointed though
Whenever he searched on LVworld and showed us how to do a muscle up I saw his video on to do a muscle up
There are some skills where this makes sense and some where it doesn't. For example, you shouldn't learn to paraglide, shoot guns or do electrical work without some guidance first. Even weightlifting can injure you if you don't learn the correct form before jumping in.
OFFICIALTHENX is actually good
yeah, the information overload is crazy in these days and age.
Gotta love how at 2:55 when Mike is decrying the overabundance of tutorials, he actually scrolls past HIS OWN!
Maybe if you read to much about it before starting, you erase the confidence boost that the noobs have when they know nothing. Just like the saying from Mark Twain "They did not know it was impossible so they did it"
thenx's tutorial on muscle ups is really good, tho
When I read tutorials, they make me feel discouraged, they make simple things seem so much harder than they really are
Actually strongly disagree, but i guess as long as it works for you, do whatever you feel works best. I just don't want people to think this is the "right" way.
You are an idiot
U r a legend
Lol this was on the up next videos on youtube imgur.com/a/H4YZuWj
your face in the thumbnail lmao
Now he promotes skillshare and makes tutorials 😂
I'm here for the cat next to him
i think i lucked into one of the right tutorial for a muscle up because it showed up on my feed after i saw you video, ...well after i saw your video, tried a muscle up and realized how long i have to go before ill be able to achieve my goal then it showed up on my feed. (its the video with the black guy in it, that you showed in your clip montage) he showed me some stuff that i was doing wrong that i can change to leverage myself as i progress, but i dont know if i would have found that information as useful, or even picked up on it if i hadn't tried before hand.
oh that "yas" shirt is a 11/10
Try to do brainvita without tutor subscribe if you like my idea
So why you used Rubik's cube tutorial
That's a joke
Can you learn a ring roll ? if you want
Mike you should learn how to juggle 5 balls. Would love to see how you approach it and how long it will take.
Y A S
I feel exactly that way when I find a guitar playing tutorial. They always repeat it all the time and talk about every note and how it relates to the others... I just want to see the song played with the fingerboard visible!
I thought the point was to learn without watching tutorials
You should try to learn to rope, it’s very popular here in Wyoming, try learning to heel rope a dummy, use a 35’ heeling rope, or if you want, learn to head rope a cow. It requires a lot of muscle memory, dexterity, and persistence. Cheers!
But what if you learn something but the technique isn't right? Or if you're not doing it the 'proper' way? Wouldn't it be better to just learn it correctly from the beginning
uses rubik's cube tutorials
That cat on your left really wants to be pet :3
Good point... there's actually quite alot of stuff that I've said "fuck it" to before ever trying it after looking into it and seeing how incredibly complicated it seems.
Good advice, especially in a world where there's almost never a thing that no one else knows how to do
Thank you so much for this video. I needed it.
That golf one made me laugh I can sympathize because I have also played golf and have that same feeling
Do you realise you've just created a tutorial on how to learn to do stuff?)
Please learn to whistle loudly without using fingers in your mouth.
I so badly wona pet that cat
3:50 🐱 CAT
It is basically education system nowadays, something as simple as cooking an instant noodle, the education system wants you to follow "this" method of cooking or otherwise if you follow your parent's methods, then you're wrong. Even if your parents ate instant noodle since they were a child.
And also basically overcomplicating simple things that could be explained by a 7 years old
Good points you raise there! 👍😀
Been there mate, sheer honesty, that is why I am subscribed to your channel.
Also, thumbs up for catto
Or wing suit jumping
Learn kite surfing
Poor Chris Heria 😂😂😂😂
you should have watched a thenx video for muscle ups xD
Ohh okey u did xD
One Thing: Watch tutorial for Backflips. Otherwise you maybe do something really wrong and bam you broke it neck. The rule doesn't apply to everything
This is very good advice! Anxiety does get worse if you go through explanations, in some cases! It does not apply to everything though (i.e. more high level technical stuff like programming) But to things like drawing or that require basic motor function that you improve with actual practice, yeah! Once you have managed to overcome that first naked step, and after some practice, if you want to improve at said skill, do watch tutorials! watch them even if you are very good at something, its possible to always learn something new!
You are amazing and positive man
Literally suggestes a tutorial next to this vid
You can’t go wrong with Chris Heria
very good cat. just a lovely little cat right there
I suspect that safety concerns could be a problem with some skills. Some of the risks are not obvious.
"JERKING MOTION"
HHHHHHHHHHAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAHHHH Braaaah..... thanks fot the laughs..
3:50 yep, adhd
I make diys for inspiration tho
3:15 the suite life anyone?
Official thenx was in this video

The cat is trying to watch or read the useless "HOW TO" LOL!
_Yas_
You used tutorials for rubik's cube
yea fuck golf
That cat
great point of view. to much info. we have that problem..u know.m
That's why you need to find who's good at teaching what you need to learn.
U prooved nothing is impossible...I'm a fan of u From India
learn to skydive
tbh I dont like tutorials because they take more effort to find than to just start the goddam thing one wants to do
🤣🤣🤣🤣 this is how I feel
I fuckin love this dude
Read the title.. Read the thumbnail text.. Video done.
After failing at golf, prove all the tutorials wrong! Break 80!
what a cute cat
You should still look at tutorials and Videos of professionals so you know how your form is supposed to be. You can get seriously hurt from lots of exercises if you dont know proper form.
great video. what is the artist who made those paint on the wall ?
teespring.com/no-title-just-heard-someone-wa#pid=2&cid=2122&sid=back Someone needs the quote on a shirt lol
TBH the ThenX toturial was pretty fucking good.
LVworld Tutorials are good but you are to choose one which fit to you and stick to it, otherwise you're right, too much information kill the process or learning !
Tutorials are like games tutorials.. after you finish them, you still need to learn everything by yourself lol
Oh my you showed thenex I love that channe
Hellow mike boyd can you try some yoyo tricks
Learn how to do pen tapping
